This is what Frank Howe (writer for the Regional Country Music Corresepondant for The Eastern Daily Press) had to say about Hayley Moyses and The Bluegrass Forum.
Hayley Moyses; Lead singer and multi instrumentalist (grew up as part of the Moyses family band - well known in East Anglia a few years ago, sister of world renowned Jazz Banjoist Sean Moyses (who has his own web site for those who would like to find out more - - just tap Sean Moyses in your search bar. Hayley has been going out as a solo artiste and in duo format in more recent years but just can't wait to be getting this big new band project on the road.
Mike King : Top dobro player in this region by a mile and possibly in the country! Mike is also right up there as a banjoist (etc etc). Helps out with vocals. Has chased his love of the instrument and the music to America in his time - and was well known in this regions country music scene at one time with bands like Denim and Lace etc. Mike has also put himself forward as a country music entrepreneur in his time.
John Bates: John is the main banjo man and like Mike has chased his love of the instrument and music to America in his time. In recent years he is well known in the North Norfolk area for his exploits with the Ugly Dog skiffle combo, John is also back up lead vocalist.
Justin Breame: excellent guitar player and like Hayley is one of the regions 'second generation' pickers - father Micky being well known lead guitarist with several country bands over the years (most recently now, with Kenny Lee & Hustler). Justin is also an excellent mandolin player and he'll be exploiting those skills also!
Phil Wells: Double bassist Phil is an old rockabilly lover ( served with Them Harvey Boys and others ) who has got more and more attracted to bluegrass over the past five years since he started visiting the old sessions at The Bildeston Kings Head. Phil has a real interesting bass with a head carved on it. He has good timing and a style all of his own - but one that will complete and compliment this line up well.
